My dream is to be a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, and now, in my 40s, I'm in a position where studying TCM is actually doable — so I am. I have three daughters — a teenager, a pre-teen, and a preschooler — and I am entering my perimenopause era, so when I say I understand real life hormonal shifts, I mean it personally.
The term "crunchy" — if you know, you know — gives me the ick. And honestly so does most of wellness culture. Because I think it's no different to the medical world it claims to oppose. Just a pill for every ill, wrapped in a green bow.
I drink a lot of coffee. Sometimes even before breakfast. The audacity, right! I use fluoride toothpaste and I'm not losing sleep over it. I occasionally take Panadol for headaches because I cannot always abandon my responsibilities for a nap. I eat well within our means and I don't catastrophise the rest.
I'm just a normal woman who found something that works. And I want you to have it too.
